Beijing has 144 hour visa-free transit policy for 53 countries citizens. This gives great opportunity to break long journey and explore Beijing.
To get this visa you need to go to 144 hour visa-free transit desk straight after landing in Beijing International Airport. There will be provided form you will need to fill in and present with passport and flight tickets to get stamp to allow leave airport. The immigration officer might ask the reason of visiting city and still has a right not to issue permit. After getting permission you will need to go through immigration control point to leave the airport.

To get visa and leave airport will take a time. We had experienced this twice and both times it took us approximately 2 hours from time we landed till getting to the Airport Express train to the city.
Airport express train is located in terminal T3-C 2F and cost 25 Yuan one way. Ticket office accepts cash only (ATM can be find in same terminal). Train from airport to Dongzhimen station takes around 50 minutes.

- Fill form
- Get stamp
- Go through immigration to leave airport
- Security check (checks you hand luggage)
- Take transfer train to terminal T3-C
- Take airport express train to get to the city
- Arriving at Dongzhimen station (last stop)
- Change line to get to your destination
